Converse announces the launch of its Fall 2011 sak for Converse Dr. J Pro Leather shoe. With this all-new, highly limited-edition collaboration, designer Ryusaku Hiruma, founder of sak, lends his gorgeous, handmade craftsmanship to one of the most significant shoes in Converse and basketball history. A conceptual and beautiful version of the Converse Dr. J Pro Leather shoe, the collaboration features rich, supple Italian leather, hand-stitched from the upper and rand to insole. Hiruma’s attention to detail is extraordinary including leather soles that echo finely made dress shoes, yet with ink-printed logos and trademark Pro Leather footprint detail that give them a playful, familiar feeling. Only 24 pairs will be produced, priced at $600 USD and available beginning September 9, 2011 at Converse First String Retailers globally, including Saint Alfred (Chicago), Foot Patrol (London), Aloha Rag (New York) and Juice (Shanghai).
