No I.D. named Def Jam Executive VP

There is no denying that No I.D.’s catalog of timeless hip-hop records is to one of the most respected ones in its genre. Now, the Chicago-based producer has received official honors as he has been named the Executive Vice President of Def Jam. According to Roc4Life, the producer said:

“I’m (now) executive VP of Def Jam. I’m going to keep on doing what I’m doing and take it to another level.Def Jam is a cultural staple. It’s not just a label, it’s part of the culture that I came up in and that I’ve been involved with for 20 years. It’s very important that the next generation of executives grab it by the horns and keep it on track as it grows.”

No I.D. has released the excellent Cocaine 80s project earlier this summer and has been busy lately crafting the music for Common’s upcoming LP The Dreamer, The Believer. Stay tuned!
