While celebrating global success with her awarded sophomore album 21, Adele is already making plans for her third album. As NME points out, the Tottenham native intends to record her new LP in the American South. In an interview with British newspaper The Sun, Adele opened up on her musical influences.
I was exposed to a lot of country, rockabilly and bluegrass because I was touring for such a long time. The melodies and to-the-point lyrics I have found in a lot of American styles of music is definitely something I’m going be pursuing heavily from now on. I want to spend some time in Austin in Texas and Nashville, Tennessee, and learn about it.
She also shared her excitement discovering a host of U.S. country artists that she’s never been exposed to before.
I feel like a four-year-old in a candy shop who’s discovering sweets again. Every day is amazing when it comes to discovering new artists.
The recording of the album is likely to begin after her current tour. There are also rumors floating around that collaboration tracks with Jay-Z and Tinie Tempah are in the works.
