22-year-old Nika Danilova, better known by her stage name Zola Jesus, has been on the rise over the past few years for her dark, experimental songs that combine elements of industrial rock, gothic rock, indie rock, pop and electronic. The Phoenix-based Russian-American singer/songwriter/musician has come out with three EPs and two albums since her first project in 2009, but she and her band are readying album number three, Conatus, to be released later this year—October 4 in the U.S. and September 26 in the UK. The first preview of the project comes in the form of “Vessel,” which can be heard below.
