No Doubt in the studio with Major Lazer

Alternative rock icons No Doubt are currently in the studio again working on their first record in a decade. Their last offering, 2001’s Rock Steady boasted rich dancehall and reggae influences. Now, reports have surfaced that the band is teaming up with another Carribbean sound-inflected outfit, Diplo and Switch’s Major Lazer. Here’s what the group’s guitarist Tom Dumont had to say via No Doubt’s Twitter feed:
“We’re working on 3 different songs 2nite in 3 different rooms in the same studio complex, all at once…@majorlazer in one of those rooms. Cutting drums with Adrian [drummer Adrian Young] at the moment.”
The picture above was also sent out to the world via the band’s Twitter. Thoughts on this?
