As previously reported, there will be a special reissue campaign of Nirvana’s Nevermind as it turns 20 this September through Universal – September 27 to be exact. Some interesting details regarding the release have now surfaced. The album will be offered in a single-disc remastered edition, a two-CD deluxe edition, and a four-CD super deluxe edition.
The two-CD deluxe edition will contain the remastered album and accompanying studio and live B-sides, plus a selection of demos recorded at producer Butch Vig’s Smart Studios, boombox recordings of rehearsals, and a pair of previously unreleased BBC recordings.
The four-CD super deluxe edition will offer all of the same content plus the “Devonshire Mixes,” a version of Nevermind produced and mixed entirely by Vig. In addition, there will be a live recording of a Halloween show in 1991 at Seattle’s Paramount Theatre on CD and DVD and a 90-page book. The album will also be reissued digitally and on 4-LP 180-gram vinyl.
