Based on a book by Michael M. Lewis originally published in 2003, Moneyball tells the story of Oakland Athletics general manager, Billy Beane. Taking a much different approach to creating a team revolving around modern analytical methods, Beane’s goal was to maximize the A’s potential due to a minuscule spending budget. This movie adaptation brings on board Brad Pitt to play the role of Billy Beane, and Peter Brand, his advisor, is played by Jonah Hill. A release date has been set for September 23, 2011 in the U.S.
