The advent of the Leica Portrait series has offered a great platform for some of our generation’s greatest and most influential photographers to tell their stories. Hailing from Germany, New York-based photographer wowe (Wolfgang Wesener) gained a great deal of notoriety for his documentation of the NY punk and nightlife scene back in the 1980s. Along the years, he’s had the opportunity to interact and put to film a dizzying around of interesting and quirky personalities, including a particular instance involving James Brown.
