Classic Keith Haring Video

As Keith Haring’s profile was increasing in the media, this 8-minute video was produced to document what was then a rising artist on the edge of commercial success, but with a special language already recognizable. The footage is grimy, with a scratched and noisy image, which just contributes to the vibe of it. The video includes an interview and lots of street footage – a good example of the balance Haring wanted to portray – in being an underground artist with a lot of imagination, and a desire to be commercial.
