tUnE-yArDs - You Yes You (Yours Truly Session)

Recently, video content creators Yours Truly linked up with the multi-talented, always interesting tUnE-yArDs for a special performance of “You Yes You,” which can be found on her recently released sophomore album, w h o k i l l. The video begins with the New England native explaining the meaning behind the album title and then breaks into a captivating performance. As usual, Ms. yArDs, whose real name is Merrill Garbus, begins by creating layers of live drum loops. After the track is set up, she plays the ukelele and sings overtop while her male accomplice plays bass. The session comes to a momentous finish after Garbus throws in an additional loop of soulful vocal scatting and frantically plucks away at the black tape-adorned four-string instrument in her hands.
