After releasing a new instrumental track, “Give a Man a Rad” last week, James Blake returns with the third official music video to accompany his critically-acclaimed, self-titled debut studio album. Like much of the album, “Lindesfarne I” and “Lindesfarne II” are mellow, simplistic, electro-infused songs that Blake produced himself. The video to “Lindesfarne” combines the end of part I’s audio with all of part II and purveys an interesting story line. It’s set around a group—or cult, perhaps—of friends that engage in strange rituals and focuses on the special relationships that they each have with each other. If you can get past the spit drinking and paint smearing, what’s your take on the video’s meaning? Watch it above and feel free to discuss in the comment section below.
