For its Spring/Summer 2011 collection, Tokyo-based fashion label banal chic bizarre was inspired by the concept of a university student working in a coal pit. Combining the aesthetics of workwear and Ivy League style, the result is an eclectic mix of sharply tailored, prep-inspired tartan trousers and shorts alongside oversized coats, camouflage utility jackets and paint splattered tops.
