When I Was 17: Wiz Khalifa
On the newest episode of MTV’s When I Was 17, Wiz Khalifa takes us back to his high school days
On the newest episode of MTV’s When I Was 17, Wiz Khalifa takes us back to his high school days in Pittsburgh. Alongside interviews with his mother (Peachie), uncle (Motor) and Benjy Grinberg (Wiz’s manager/CEO of Rostrum Records), Wiz explains the origins of his stage name (which he got tattooed on his arm for his 17th birthday), reminisces on walking into prom as his song was playing, admits that his favorite artist was Cam’ron, talks about his first car, and explains his hustle of selling albums at school. Along with Wiz, the episode features Elizabeth Berkley, best known for her role as Jessie on Saved By the Bell, and Dancing with the Stars champion Mark Ballas. As the video shows, Wiz has certainly come a long way to get to where he is now. So make sure you support the movement by purchasing his major label debut, Rolling Papers, when it hits stores this Tuesday!
