The original Nike Mayfly was named after the insect doomed to live only for a day, a name that charged the concept behind an entirely performance-based shoe that was designed to last for just one marathon. It was discovered that the shoe could cover a lot more distance, but the story went hand in hand with the name, and so it stuck. The Mayfly LT parallels the original Mayfly in terms of shape and the sole unit with cutaways in the outsole, but contradicting the concept behind its original counterpart, the LT is made of far more durable materials with lasering on the pattern in black or grey, markedly reminiscent of the TZ Zoom Moire. As of now, plans to release the Mayfly LT are unknown, but a deeper story about this sneaker’s creation is offered through Crooked Tongues for your reading pleasure.
