Following an unexpected preview of the Nike Zoom KD IV “Nerf a few weeks ago, Nike today officially unveils its Zoom KD IV – the fourth Kevin Durant signature shoe installment. The Zoom KD IV incorporates a variety of updated technical elements including the new Adaptive Fit system, Hyperfuse construction, and a Zoom Air unit. Evolving the shoes to meet the demands of Durant’s on-court performance, the pair is constructed in a nearly seamless one-piece upper to provide a lightweight and responsive component.
The inaugural colorway arrives drawing obvious inspiration from KD’s home team. Durant, who remained closely involved in the design process, incorporated the verbiage “Big Chucky” on the heel which pays tribute to KD’s late childhood coach. Further infusing the pair with his own personal history, the initials “WP” on the toe of each shoe pays homage to Durant’s parents and late grandmother Barbara. Slated for a December global general release, the Nike Zoom KD IV will be made available beginning December 3.
