Raekwon is making sure things don’t slow down this year. In his coming feature story with Vibe, The Chef revealed that he is intending to release a second album in 2011 which is set to e “DJ-oriented” and “harmony-based” and will feature production from the likes of Just Blaze and Kanye West. Being already half complete, teh Wu-Tang veteran is eyeing for an October-release.
The good folks over at Complex are sharing an exclusive preview of Rae’s first 2K11-release, Shaolin Vs. Wu-Tang highlighting a song titled “Silver Rings”. In this sneak peek, Raekwon hints that the second release might be the third installment of his legendary Only Built 4 Cuban Linxx…-series.
Rae makes a major announcement on this one. Cuban Linxx III is still coming! He says he doesn’t know when, but that the time is coming, and that’s good enough for us. That being said this album definitely isn’t in the same vein as the Cuban Linx series. OB4CL and its sequel had an overarching narrative, but this record is more like a series of vignettes tied together by a common theme.
