You’d think we’d be used to American fashion designer Thom Browne and his outlandish shows for Italian winter clothing brand Moncler Gamme Bleu, but we’re not. Past seasons have seen Moncler models taking to the track of Milan’s velodrome and the diving blocks of the city’s Olympic-sized swimming pool. No one can criticize Browne of being inconsistent as this season’s collection was showcased in an equally athletic location: a selection of riding stables. The collection reflected the interesting choice of location adopting a horse and hound theme throughout. Deer stalkers, jodhpurs, quilted vests, shearling-lined coats and the brand’s trademark puff jackets could be found in fabrics ranging from leather and tartan to houndstooth, tweed and wool. Wonderful, ridiculous and very warm stuff.
