SAWA sneakers are born from the energy of African cobblers who are challenging the traditional North/South industrial flow (raw materials from Africa transformed elsewhere into finished goods). SAWA sneakers are made in Africa with materials from Africa. SAWA is more than a brand. It is a project whose ambition is to set the foundations of a sustainable economy, thanks to a product enriched in value from local genuine know how. SAWA sneakers find their vintage inspiration from the omnipresence of second hand cloths sent from developed countries and input into the African economy. To tease the thousands of containers entering daily in African countries and strongly influencing the local “fashion”, their sneakers have started the inverse journey towards the “western” markets.

The shoes will drop next month within selective shops around the word, including: Dover Street Market (London), COMME des GARCONS Tokyo, BlackBlock (Paris), Wood Wood Berlin, Copenhagen and Vienna amongst others.
