Headed by creative duo Melvin Tanaya and Lyna Ty, Australian label Song for the Mute has just published its 2011 fall/winter lookbook. Entitled “Milieu,” the collection is sophisticated and contemporary by utilizing minimalist aesthetics and a carefully restrained color palette. Materials used are appropriately heavy and make consistent use of boiled wool, delicate organza silk as well as both sheep and deer skin. The full collection will be shown in Paris in January with a release not expected until the closing months of next year.
