Nas and Damien Marley have felt the power of Amadou and Mariam’s 2008-jam “Sabali”, as they chose the eclectic tune as a sample for their socially conscious “Patience”. Honoring the complexity of the music by the blind Mali-couple, various DJs and producers have spend some additional time at the studio and created their respective interpretations of select standouts of their discography. The resulting 13 tracks appear on the ambitious project titled REMIXES which is slated for a January 11th-release via Because Music and Nonesuch.
