Nike Sportswear Air Zoom Toki Lux
Nike took some inspiration from their classic Blazer and Sabaku models to create this intellectual offspring. Ive never been huge into Blazers, mostly due to their comfort level and Sabakus honestly weren’t that appealing, but these Toki Lux get the job done. Nice and clean with a high level of sophistication.
In The Studio with Anthony Lister
This past week I got a chance to kick back for awhile at Upper Playground’s studio in San Francisco, as Anthony Lister was preparing for his show Magic Trick. The artwork was superb as one would expect. Anthony and Lee were cool dudes but the traffic going home wasn’t as nice.
Stones Throw Records Meets Ed Banger Records Interview
Peanut Butter Wolf and Busy P offer an insightful interview. Both hot shots give us a better understanding of Stones Throw Records and Ed Banger Records, not to mention how they all hooked up considering their contrasting musical genres.
Y-3 gave us a look into their Spring/Summer footwear lineup a few days back. Yohji Yamamoto never fails to impress with his smooth fusion of designer fashion and sportswear. You can never go wrong with black and white patent leather joints.
Ironlak & SuperVision presents Pose & Ewok of The Seventh Letter Crew
The Seventh Letter has always had my respect for their flawless execution. This video was yet another awesome look into two integral members of the crew, Pose and Ewok. If you haven’t checked it out already, check it out!
colette x Visvim Ballistic 20L Pack
Backpacks aren’t usually my thing, I prefer messengers all the way. But this collabo piece between colette and Visvim takes the cake. Both brands manage to produce a sleek bag without flooding it with design work and adding the perfect balance of color.
One of the more hyped sneakers of 2009 thus far, the Coraline Nike Dunks feature a load of inspiration from LAIKA’s animated masterpiece Coraline. These Wieden + Kennedy designed kicks combine both a clever textile aesthetic with witty marketing. Definitely a winner.
I first learned about this retro last year when the Spring/Summer catalogs began to appear. It’s cool to see Nike leaving some original colorways in tact as well as quality control. These were the first kicks that really got me into the game back in 95. I haven’t looked back since.
Haven x Reigning Champ Hoodies
Reigning Champ produce some of the industries best fleece garments with an emphasis on minimalistic design alongside premium cuts and quality. Teaming up with one of Canada’s finest shops, both entities celebrate Haven’s 2nd anniversary in style.
A Bathing Ape Teriyaki Boyz Snow Dome
Bape has always implemented a certain playful aesthetic to their apparel. Everything from their mascot Baby Milo to Super Mario and even SpongeBob SquarePants. This latest creation is such a cool item, mainly because of its randomness. Teriyaki Boyz in a snow globe, wearing shark hoodies and making it rain. Can’t get better streetwear novelty than that.
