Giving full creative control to a team at Maison Martin Margiela, the fashion house looked beyond their usual fashion senses to apply their aesthetic to re-design the Elle Deco Suite, once the apartment of Palais Chaillot architect, Jacques Carlu. The project was initiated by the Cite de L’Architecture & du Patrimoine. The 220 m2 (approximately 2400 square feet) apartment is located near the Parisian attraction, Eiffel Tower. The overall theme was to create a post-party venue with disorder and untidiness seen throughout. MMM’s deconstructive methods can be seen with mixes of white, silver and trompe l’oiel. The renovated apartment can be seen as an exhibition from now until October, 2009.
