After seeing a masterful effort by N. Hoolywood with their 1960s space race theme “After Sputnik”, their follow-up collection for fall/winter is inspired by Harvey Pekar’s autobiographical comic book, “American Splendor”. Originally illustrated by famed US artist Robert Crumb, “American Splendor” would also go on to enjoy the talents of numerous other illustrators over a 39 issue run. The “Daily Life Truth” collection looks to incorporate the concepts of Pekar’s everyday life within his circle of friends. Ultimately N. Hoolywood tries to achieve Pekar’s goal of creating one realistic experience which Pekar felt was missing from traditional comic books. Available now at select IT stores in Hong Kong.
