Joining a small but competitive number of high-end point&shoot cameras, the recently announced Leica D-Lux 4 looks to set the mark against the likes of the Canon G9s, Ricoh GX200s, Sigma DP1s and its cousin the Lumix LX-3. Characterized by a high-speed LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON 5.1-12.8 mm f/2.0-2.8 ASPH. lens and a relatively large for its class 1/1.63“ CCD sensor, the camera pairs top components for what is expected to be a strong performer. The D-Lux 4 will also have to ability to shoot at 30 fps in high definition video formats and like always a handful of accessories will be offered with the D-Lux 4. For a full in-depth look at what the D-Lux 4 offers, the press release is available here.
