Back in 2007, sneaker customizer Rob L officially teamed up with Puma to create the “Archipelago” Clydes, a tribute to the Greek word for range of islands. For 20 years, Rob L has become an incessant fan of the Clyde and Suede profile, beginning with the book “Spraycan Art”. The original custom sneakers featured a special technique involving Pantone markers to create the patchy upper, mimicking small concentrations of islands. The popularity of this sneaker has spawned a full production version. Capturing the essence of the original, the Clyde is very much similar to its custom sneaker originator (perhaps the status can be upgraded to sample now). The sneaker will be available in two colors, with a nubuck upper and special padded tongue to ensure the laces are spread wider apart and achieve that “jellyroll” look. A worldwide release date is set for June 21st. Available at Solebox.
At the recent Nike Sportswear launch in Beijing, among the upcoming showcases were a series of Air Max 90s. Display alongside re-designed styles of the classic Air Max 90 such as the Flywire AM90 and AM90 Current were a further preview of these Air Max 90 Premiums. Devoid of the technical innovation like the contemporary Air Max styles, Fly Wire and Current, these Premiums aren’t without their own merits as the quality constriction is marked by the use of multiple materials on the upper. The upper is comprised of rip-stop nylon, texturized rubber and felt on the toebox. Look for these to hit select Nike lifestyle dealers in the coming weeks.

For this latest installment of the WTAPS x Vans Syndicate series, the Japanese brand has created three distinct styles each reflective of various cultures and time periods. The Rudeez was inspired by vintage dress shoes, the Greaserz looks at 70s blue collar culture and the Bash is inspired by hip-hop culture as well as Spike Lee movies. For releases, it will begin in June with the Bash and end in August with the Rudeez.

“The Award Tour” is a lifestyle driven project focusing on the creation of apparel to outfit those who follow the foundation of the brand. Award Tour refers to the elation that one feels when they pursue life to the fullest extent, the clothing centers around conveying this message along with the youthful vibrancy of the family of the brand. In a simple phrase, those associated with the brand hold no reserves and enjoy every moment they are presented with, this is reflected through the brand imaging and clothing itself.

Upon its debut in the 1970s, the 320 from New Balance was immediately heralded by Runner’s World as the number 1 performer. With a return to vintage models in recent memory and an overall move away from chunky profiles, the 320 is enjoying a new bit of relevancy in 2008. This latest pack is inspired by early video game imagery. Available next month in three colorways at Mita.
