The Flightposite is one of those rare love it or hate it shoes. While some may consider the shoe’s design unorthodox to say the least, the shoe does have a steady cult following of supporters. This colorway alongside the indestructible foot-forming (albeit heavy) Foamposite upper is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated for Nike heads. Casio has teamed up with Subcrew to create a special edition G-Shock watch for the 25th Anniversary of Casio’s iconic watch, the G-Shock. The watch comes in a black colorway and has the Subcrew logo laser printed onto it. The watch will also come in a special box set which will include Subcrew’s famous mesh caps. This pack will be limited to only 25 pieces worldwide.

As previewed earlier, the collection of Peecol figures from German pixel-art group eBoy, has hit Kid Robot retailers. Featured is Bulgr, a ski mask wearing bandit with virtually no respect for the law, considering her carries a glock on him fulltime and is only 3.5” in size. Like all Peecol figures, he is interchangeable meaning you can swap out his top or bottom half with other such figures in the series. Unlike most, this guy is a limited edition though, with only 600 pieces being produced it is hard not to pass him up. Available now at Kid Robot for $14.95

This time the focus shifts to a hodge podge of releases ranging from the now 26 year old Air Force 1 to running classics like the Air Max 90/1 with various models like the Blazer Low in between. The colorways enjoy a great deal of simplicity here stressing few colors.

While some have shrugged off the latest incarnation of John Rambo, The Last Battlefield (Japanese working title), the theatrical collaboration brand Theatre8 have set out to celebrate Rambo’s latest movie which released earlier this year. The t-shirt is marked by the four different years in which the Rambo films have been released with a figure of Rambo set against the numerals. Available June 17th through Crown Jewel.
Fresh up to bat from Levi’s Fenom for the 2008 summer collection are the White Deco and Cropped Pink Lame Stitch. Japanese brand Resonate has released some intricate cut and sew pieces as part of their 2008 spring/summer collection. Two sets feature both a colorful patchwork style button-up, the M-65 PW S/S and a more subdued Reversible CB S/S. Embodying the same qualities which has made Dickies such a respected and cherished brand, a new direction sees Dickies enter a more lifestyle and fashion forward direction. On the backs of a new and simple website launch, the brand pairs apparel alongside short editorial features which include the likes of photographers Ricky Powell and Brian “B+” Cross getting involved.
Considering Joe Williams’ background in noise rock, one would think that his debut album under the alias White Williams would be a flurry of shrill guitar feedback and abnormal strong structure. However, Williams’ freshman album “Smoke” was obviously inspired by the neo new wave movement sweeping the avant-garde music crowd. Complete with minimalist electro pop groove the album sounds eerily like a mixture between a young Beck and Moby. It was revealed late last year that Williams recorded most of “Smoke” on a single laptop in various apartments. This is not that surprising when the listener is engulfed by soft synth stabs and guitars that contain an immediately recognizable do it yourself ethic. Lyrically Williams can be ambiguous but his penchant for infectious melody and natural boyish charm over comes all pretensions.
The song “Violator” off of the album quickly became a fan favorite especially during Williams’ live performances. Williams has finally appeased his die hards by releasing a video that perfectly matches the easy new wave vibe of the track. Mimicking the slow driving bass of the intro the video shows moving black liquid and visuals of Williams staring nonchalantly into the camera. The simplistic vibe of the song is shown on the video in what appears to be an ode to weird 80s early MTV electro videos.
Here’s a look at a new t-shirt created in partnership between the Japanese fixie crew, t19, and fragment design. The tee is under the brand Rookie and features a graphic of a fixed gear rider and his doggy. No word on when the tee will be released but stay tuned for more info.
