These Air Wovens reference the annual Dragon Boat Festival in which people gather to remember the passing of Chinese poet Wut Yuen who passed away at the knowledge of his local army succumbing to defeat. The widespread effect Harold Hunter has had on the skating world among other avenues has left a strong sense of remembrance for the former pro skater. The second annual Harold Hunter Day will take place May 17th in New York with a series of events planned. The day will start off at the Manhattan Bridge Skatepark (corner of Pike & Monroe Streets in Chinatown) with a skate jam going on from 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Live music will come courtesy of Pete Rock and DJ’s Neil Nice and Vinny Ponte. The after party will take place later that night at KCDC Skateshop in Williamsburg Brooklyn. The 21+ event will feature free drinks, live music, art installations and photographs of Harold by the way of acclaimed photographer Giovanni Reda. All this is made possible from the countless company support from the likes of Rock Star Bearings, SHUT, 5boro, Hopps, Official, Instant Winner, UXA, Verte, Acapulco Gold, Billy’s Nuts, Savage, Off Bowery, Everything Must Go, Frank 151, DQM, Rival, Supreme, Autumn, KCDC, Anything, Red Bull, and Camp Woodward.
