Only a few short weeks ago, China’s Sichuan area endured one of the nation’s most catastrophic natural disasters in history. More then 60,000 people have succumbed to the unfortunate events that took place on May 12th. Despite being almost a thousand miles away in Beijing at the time, the aftershocks of the earthquake itself were felt and would be a preview of the unfortunate incident that has claimed the lives of so many innocent citizens. Within the masses of fallen lie numerous children and young adults which unfortunately will never be afforded the same opportunities and chances many of us take for granted. Collaborating with Singaporean brand Flesh Imp, we have chosen to remember the youth and their premature passing in the creation of our “Lost Youth” t-shirt. The design represents the brightly lit path of the youth which was so violently removed as it slowly fades out.
With hopes of raising $5,000 USD, we hope you take the opportunity to purchase a shirt in which proceeds will be donated directly to the Sichuan Earthquake cause. The t-shirts are available for sale now with a price of $45 USD shipped worldwide (however faster shipping methods are also available). All questions should be addressed to sales@fleshimp.com. The only accepted form of international payment is Paypal, sizing includes XS – L. For information on sizing please refer here.
The German collaboration juggernaut Solebox has been ripping it up lately with numerous collaborations. Their latest takes form under Reebok’s wing with the re-styling of the classic ERS 2000 running model. The very wearable gray upper features slight orange accents. The Clones foreshadow something interesting in what is perhaps a scented insole, similar to the Kool-Aid x Reebok pack previously released. A drop date won’t be set until later this year.

Multi-talented Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park steps out of his usual musical role in his upcoming exhibit Glorious Excess (Born). The DC Shoes sponsored show is arguably his finest work to date incorporating personal revelations with pop commentary and vanitas influences. Vanitas itself is a Northern European art form dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. The art themes itself around the transience of earthly life and the futility of vanity. Some of the associated imagery includes skulls, rotten fruit, bubbles and musical instruments, each with significant connotations. Shinoda’s exhibition includes multiple influences and a character’s time line through a contemporary society’s fascination with fame, excess and instant gratification
This event is the first of a two part series at the George and Sakaye Aratani Central Hall of the Japanese American National Museum. Aside from coinciding with Mike Shinoda’s collaborative sneaker effort with DC’s Remix collection, all the art and sneakers sold will have proceeds donated directly to the Michael K. Shinoda Endowed Scholarship at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. The event will begin on July 12th and conclude on August 3rd however an opening reception for the public and autograph signing will take place July 11 from 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm.
