The May edition of the Japanese skate magazine Ollie featured a terrific shoot showcasing some of the Supreme Spring/Summer 08 offerings. The spread is done in the usual voyerustic style that we’ve come to associate with the brand. Some of the pieces shown include the recent Bad Brains collabo and some yet to be released items including an Oxford Side-logo and the pink Guyebera shirt.

Supreme has once again teamed up with the folks at Vans! This time, the collaboration includes two Half Cabs in yellow and black, and two Chukkas in red and blue. All four have just solid colors with no patterns, allowing the design of the shoes to really come through. Be sure to keep checking back for release date and availability.

The DQM x Nike Blazer drew a decent amount of buzz when it was revealed earlier this week. Now Chris Keeffe from DQM has updated us with an update with information on the shoes.
“Nike has partnered with New York retailer Dave’s Quality Meat for a limited release of the Nike Blazer Hi. Originally released in 1973, the Nike Blazer Hi is Nike’s first Hoops shoe, becoming a pioneering basketball sneaker. “This style was one the [DQM] team of Chris Keeffe, Dave Ortiz and myself all agreed was iconic, as well as being a sneaker we’d not yet had the opportunity to work with Nike on,” said DQM’s Kyle Demers.
After spending time in the Nike Design library at World Headquarters, Beaverton, Oregon, the team identified full grain leather and the classic Safari print on premium suede as their materials of choice for this special Nike Blazer. The next step in the design process saw the DQM team divide into two groups: Chris and Dave were joined by Nike designer Al Baik, while Kyle paired with Nike Design Director, Jesse Leyva. “The challenge was to see which team, taking inspiration from BMX and Skateboarding in the 1980’s, could create the best color way for the Nike x DQM Blazer Mid,” said Kyle Demers.
“When Chris, Dave, Kyle, Al and myself shared ideas, I knew there was not one winner, and the Nike x DQM Blazer needed to be in fact a collection of all three versions created by the DQM team,” said Jesse Leyva. “So that’s exactly what we did.”
The Nike x DQM Blazer Hi will be available this summer in three colorways, at select retail accounts.”

Describing a Hip Hop group as veterans or seasoned isn’t always necessarily a compliment in a genre that thrives off of new and cutting edge music. Several groups in hip hop who were around as recently as the mid to late 90’s are respected for they’re past material but largely forgotten as relics of the past. This is why it is so incredible that a group like The Roots is not only still relevant but is still releasing some of their best material in their fifteen year careers. Black Thought is still seemingly in his prime, easily navigating a flow that combines the best parts of Kool G Rap and Big Daddy Kane. The band itself sonically is tighter then ever.
?uestlove, the bands founding member, drummer and heart and sole of the group has lately been lacing the group with the hardest beats he can. A sound that destroys the “jazz rap” label they erroneously achieved in their early days. The tone and themes of the Roots music lately has turned more somber and serious with social commentary on the Bush Administration and pontification on life and death. However, The Roots never seem to jump off the deep end and still know that the original basis of Hip Hop is tracks that make you want to get up and dance. “Rising up” feat Wale & Chrisette Michelle is The Roots at their most celebratory and no doubt is one of their most up beat on their album coming soon titled “Rising Down.”
Ronnie Fieg and David Z. have cooked up yet another footwear collaboration this time with once popular running label Sauncony on two colorways of the Courageous model. Titled the Run Away pack, the collection focuses on a theme which exhibits colorways that run away from the conventional stylings of Saucony sneakers. WTAPS has introduced the concepts and themes behind their eyewear collection, “Slinly Optics”. The collection is divided into four separate themes, Outsiders, Misfits, Punks and Rebels. Among the first models feature is the Bad Manner. The frame shape cuts out sharply towards the edge of the eyes with interpretations based on the letter ‘W’.
The highly anticipated and widely acclaimed Bomb It documentary is debuting (trailer seen above) tonight in New York at Cinema Village. The documentary is a comprehensive look at the world of graffiti from a worldly perspective as his travels take him around the globe in search of the world’s greatest writers and opinions on pertinent issues including the economical and societal implications. In anticipation of a full debut of his film, director Jon Reiss also gave an extensive interview with Daily News regarding the purpose and production of the film.
