Nike Dunk Low Mercurial R9
The gap tooth sporting former FIFA World Player of the Year Ronaldo and his signature boot the Mercurial R9 debuted in 1998 in what was arguably a golden era for soccer boots. Up against the (in my books) legendary adidas Predator Accelerator, the Mercurial R9 was the beginnings of a new era for the soccer world and Nike that stressed lightweight minimalistic boots on the pitch. His Brazilian inspired silver, blue and yellow colorway would be the catalyst for Nike as they set out to create a full fledged direction behind the Mercurial line. Keeping consistent with Nike’s recent trends, the look of various models have been lifted and superimposed on the Dunk. Available in June with a suggested price of $125 USD. Source: Nice Kicks
