Banksy "One Nation Under CCTV"

Amongst the most well known street artists today, Banksy has struck again in perhaps his most ironic piece of work yet. Seen painted on the side of a post office, his slogan “One Nation Under CCTV” was conducted behind a large fence with CCTV (surveillance camera) coverage. The job required the construction of three stories of scaffolding to complete the job and represents one of Banksy’s boldest attempts and the irony is brought on by the fact this was all happening under the “eye in the sky” surveillance cameras. However, with the surging popularity of Banksy, increased publicity and large sums his works command (however this was done on a post office), maybe somebody willingly turned the blind eye? Chloe Sevigny in the new UNIQLO Campaign

Chloe Sevigny in the new UNIQLO Campaign

Chloe Sevigny, known to many of you originally as the chick from Larry Clarke’s “KIDS”, is once again posing uniquely for Uniqlo’s Spring ‘08 line up. We see more graphic based Tee’s, including an Atom Boy influenced graphic and a fireworks motif, something that describes summer to most Japanese. In this case, Uniqlo is bringing some retro Japanese to the West, a nice change from the Americana they revitalize usually over there. There is a 70’s rock theme Raglan Tee and flared pants though for those that can’t get enough of the US’s good old days however. Like other JP brands, Uniqlo has cooked up some vivid edgier stuff for the West as opposed to what they would serve at home. More looks after the jump
