Founding fathers of the hardcore punk movement, Bad Brains has teamed up with Supreme on a collection of apparel and sneakers. The diverse nature of Bad Brains created an eclectic sound that included a mix of punk, metal, jazz and reggae. The Rastafarian combo have broken up and reformed over the years, now manned by the classic and current lineup of singer H.R., guitarist Dr. Know, bassist Darryl Jennifer, and drummer Earl Hudson. The collection includes a three-pack of Vans SK8-Hi’s, two t-shirts and a Harrington jacket. The roll out will begin April 24th at Supreme LA and NY, while Japan will release their capsules on April 26th in Daikanyama/Harajuku and April 27th in Osaka/Fukuoka.

Everybody’s favorite brand these days seems to be Wacko Maria, brought to light by Tet’s Honeyee blog or by hipster’s guidebook Huge mag. We’ve seen a strong South Western/Blues/Mexican theme until now but of course we had to see some Militaria coming. After all, Army jackets are an integral part of true American fashion, adorned by patriotic loners from Steve McQueen, to John Rambo (First Blood not Rambo pt. 100) and Travis Bickle (Taxi Driver). These jackets are slightly different from the played out M-65 and we see pre-Vietnam garments including the M-56’s forefather the M-51 which has a full velcro strip down the front. Solebox x Asics Gel Lyte III

With impending troubles on the horizon between Solebox and Nike Germany, Solebox has returned to one of its greatest skills as collaborator extraordinaire. It seems more often then not every sneaker to come under their influence of the German sneaker shop has yielded smart and cohesive colorways, albeit with a strong affection to purple. Their latest collaboration with Asics on the Gel Lyte III features a purple/gray suede sneaker. However beyond a nice colorway is a color sensitive upper/midsole that turns purple in the sun. Two different styles were created, a special Solebox exclusive with the stores name featured on the heel and sole that will only be available through the Berlin retailer as well as a version devoid of Solebox symbolism that will be available at Asics’ finest dealers around the world. No word yet on a release date however by all accounts it should be arriving soon. Check Solebox for more details.
