Known in the past for their loud, floral prints, this season sees a more subdued version of the Leroy Jenkins aesthetic, with tonal embroidery on a solid leather outer. The hats also feature premium satin lining and a suede underbill. There is no set drop date, however these hats will be released as part of Leroy Jenkins summer collection.

Cory Kennedy met photographer Mark Hunter (a/k/a The Cobrasnake) at a Blood Brothers concert at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, California in the summer of 2005. Fast forward 2 years and some months later, internet celebrity Cory has been featured on the cover of Jalouse (with artwork by KAWS), and is now releasing her first t-shirt in collaboration with Mark and Australian brand Ksubi. The shirts feature an image of Paris Hilton with Cory Kennedy and are limited to 250 pieces worldwide. Available now direct from The Cobra Snake for $109 USD.
Product (RED) is a program where if you buy a (RED) product, a percentage of the sale will go towards curing HIV/AIDS in Africa. The latest (RED) product is from Converse which teamed up with trend setter Hiroshi Fujiwara on a Chuck Taylor Low in a simple red colorway. One of HF’s many popular logos is tagged on the back of the shoe. According to Converse, this shoe will be released on March 1st.

New models have been introduced including the Lama Folk Sandal and the Logan Deck Lo. Visvim has also taken inspiration from different cultures and has created the Mayan Christo, the Mayan Kiefer Hi, the Patala Kiefer Hi, the Jokhang Christo and the Jokhang FBT. The Jokhang FBT drops first and will be available this week at Anytime.

Sneaker Pimps kicked off their Canadian leg of their worldwide tour on February first. The Circa in Toronto was the venue as hordes of Toronto sneaker heads packed the place. Futura, Stash and Klan123 also worked their magic with live art installations. The event also served as the launching point of the Dunk Wars Challenge which will also includes a website that goes live on February 29th. “Dunk Wars” pays tribute to 8 classic Dunks alongside 8 of Canada’s biggest cultural influencers.
Much of the art direction and imagery for Prada’s 2008 Spring/Summer campaign was left in the hands of artist James Jean. His stunning sketches adorn a collection of womens handbags and form the backdrop for select Prada locations around the world. Among the pieces he created was a huge 200 foot long wallpaper scene for Prada’s Beverly Hills and Soho Epicenter Stores.

In an interview with Uniqlo’s founder, Tadashi Yanai, the entrepreneurial mastermind outlines his goals of reaching the $10 billion USD/year sales mark and his unwillingness to pigeon-hole his management philosophy as any particular style but rather one that must be continually adapted to ensure success and efficiency. New for 2008, adidas Originals introduced the Celebrate Originality campaign. The by-product of this creative initiative is this latest art installation produced by Douglas Little and actor/writer/director Justin Theroux titled Sometimes Comes Mother, Sometimes Comes Wolf. The venue takes place in a reconstructed container to appear as an adidas Originals blue shoe box. With the creative care and direction left in the hands of Theroux and Little, the exhibition embodies the core values of adidas’ campaign of eliciting creative responses. The melange of personally owned items from the contemporary, to borrowed antiquities, creates a juxtaposition of the present and past items of pop-culture. The event tantalizes many senses and offers reflection through it’s thought provoking displays. Available on display from now until this Saturday.
