SOPHNET. x Visvim Logan
Another great team-up between SOPHNET. and Visvim in what has become an expected seasonal affair. Many set forth trying to update and produce styles which improve on the original, few succeed yet Visvim more often then not are achieving this goal with high-quality materials and products.
Despite the little use of color, New Balance produce a great colorway on their M991 with the well-placed use of texturized leathers.
3sixteen 2008 Holiday Collection Lookbook
Seeing 3sixteen grow and turn the corner has been a fruitful experience. Going from a predominately print-based t-shirt line to what you see before you now all while enduring the hardships of a re-branding is no easy feat.
Barney’s x Converse Chuck Taylor All Star
Converse has been on fire this year on the collaboration front and to be honest, there have been few pieces I have not liked. Whether it be the right collaborators or just that the infamous Chuck Taylor that can do no wrong, Barney’s produces a stunning pack of a sneaker classic.
Kai Regan & Tony Arcabascio’s UNLOVEABLE Book
We’ve seen a lot of good photo-based books and books in general drop recently, and it’s definitely a welcome change. Sure attention spans for reading have dwindled in our new Google-age, however the coffee table I don’t think is going anywhere soon. Tangible forms of media is something I think we should start to re-embrace a little more once again. The subject matter of the book itself is perhaps one of the most culturally rich places in the world with some solid backing.
Aaron De La Cruz Nike Air Force 1 Custom for HYPEBEAST
Just a sick piece of work. We had actually never exchanged any emails with Aaron at all, one of his homies and fellow artist Jasper Wong mentioned Aaron did a shoe for us when he stopped by the other day. Apparently DJ Clark Kent took notice and has hit Aaron up already.
Nike Sportswear x Loopwheeler Backpack
I always like to see certain materials in unorthodox applications and fleece has slowly been making its way into some interesting situations thanks in part to Nike’s partnership with Japanese brand Loopwheeler.
MTNOPS x Estate LA Type Three Fitted Cap
Another crazy joint between MTNOPS and Estate LA. My limited experience with MTNOPS has already resulted in a tremendous respect for a brand that prides itself on creating innovative and worthwhile products. The use of various tech fabrics on the fitted cap is something rarely seen but given MTNOPS’ position as a snowboard-based initiative, it makes total sense.
Patrik Ervell Reversible Mountain Parka Trench
Patrik Ervell has quickly become one of my favorite designers creating many easy-to-wear pieces. His take on outerwear is one I greatly applaud. There are your usual suspects when it comes to outerwear but more often then not there’s an obvious emphasis on performance first. You’re not going to scale Mt. Everest in an Ervell jacket, but walking down the street in style while offering a bit of protection is something it seems quite capable of.
Although Nike SB beat Vans to the punch in the past, these are a better execution in my eyes. It’s ironic the sort of canvas sneakers sometimes have become, linking a famous painter with a 40-something skate company.
