Japanese bag company Porter is at the center of yet another powerful collaboration with Buzz Rickson (of Sugar Cane Denim fame) and William Gibson. The Buzz Rickson collection itself has been known as a leading provider of vintage-styled flight and armed forces jackets and available exclusively only in Japan. The collection covering laptop bags and hip bags is a strong juxtaposition of classic styles and contemporary material choices. Originally derived for the military’s bulletproof vest needs, a high strength nylon material is applied to the body of the bags with Buzz Rickson’s genuine horse leather as seen on their A-2 jackets used to accentuate the bags. The bags each feature ample amounts of pockets and detailing including Porter MAG flashlight zipper pulls. Both bag styles are available now at SelfEdge.com.
