Over the next five months, Japanese toymakers Medicom Toy and the original denim brand, Levi’s have set up a partnership with various artists to release a series of collaborative Bearbrick toys. The proposed time line of releases is as follows, August: Levi’s, September: Devilrobots, October: Mad Barbarians, November: Kennyswork, and finally December: CLOT. The CLOT release will be the exception with two Bearbrick designs instead of one. There is talk of these figures being sold in limited quantities as a package with the Medicom x Levis items previously featured.

New York’s popular basketball inspired label UNDRCRWN recently released their latest summer products. The Ball-Hog line of products feature two t-shirts, a New Era fitted cap and a pair of UNDRCRWN’s own Layup model sneaker. The brightly colored print on the tee and fitted cap is similar to the print seen on the UNDRCRWN x adidas Gil-Zero. The items are now available at retailers such as Boundless NY.

In an uncanny move, Louis Vuitton has chosen former USSR president Mikhail Gorbachev as one of its latest spokesperson. Heralded as one of the Top 100 people of the 20th century by Time Magazine, the inclusion of Gorbachev as a marketing force is an interesting move to highlight LV’s roots as a luxury luggage maker. Gorbachev joins the likes of Pharrell Williams and Jennifer Lopez as celebrity figure heads who have featured for LV. For a little random trivia, Gorbachev’s cameo appearance in an episode of The Simpsons awhile back is a testament to his role as a pop icon.
The Futura Laboratories flagship store in Fukuoka Japan recently released some store exclusive products. Among the products featured include a pair of denim highlighted by a Futura 2000 print and signature embroidery on the back pocket. The jeans also reveal the same Futura 2000 print when cuffed. Other items include two graphic t-shirts and miscellaneous jewelry such as dog-tags and rings.

Bounty Hunter has released some more of their latest Summer ‘07 collection. The line up for this release includes standard summer fare such as tank-tops and shorts as well as an embroidered logo t-shirt, an “Eyes” shirt and a tiger camo cap. The shorts feature a mesh lining to allow for use as swimming shorts as well.
