Japanese photographer Ichigo Sugawara, American outdoor apparel brand The North Face and Japanese retailer Beams have collaborated on a new bag called the Detour Day Pack. The inspiration behind his bag come from Sugawara’s photographs. He places a large emphasis on taking natural lit pictures and this bag as well as another summer photo bag were both taken with natural light to reflect the true unadulterated colors. These bags will also come packaged with a matching thermos perfect for day long trips.

Following their most recent collaboration with Supreme, Oakley have now teamed up with famed Seattle artist, Art Chantry to create a limited edition pair of “Hinjinx” Sunglasses. Art Chantry has an extensive list of contributions and accolades to the art community that include numerous design awards as well as the author of various instructional books. He’s also the author of “Instant Litter: Concert Posters from Seattle Punk Culture” which has become a classic form of literature in it’s field. Art Chantry has also gone as far as to have his art displayed around the world in such famous venues as The Louvre, Smithsonian, Library of Congress and The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Art Chantry’s influence via his artwork for big Seattle area bands such as Nirvana and Sound Garden helped his cause in becoming an internationally known talent. This trickle down effect has seen many companies along the west coast dealing with skate, snow and surf to take influence with Chantry’s works. Oakley’s common bond with skate, surf and snow that resulted in this collaboration with Art Chantry as it was a natural next step in creating a product that appealed to the community it represents. These sunglasses will be available on June 1st, 2007.
Under the watchful eye of entrepreneur extraordinaire Damon Dash, Pro Keds have taken a distinctly retro approach to their Summer 2007 line up. Not only have Pro Keds dug into the proverbial archives to re-release some old classic Keds models they have also chosen a fun 80’s video game direction to utilize the colors and graphics of the era to create some bold looking shoes. Two models part of the men’s range include the 3rd Avenue which was one of the first Pro Ked running models. The other model is the Sky Hawk, a variation of the Royal Lo vulcanized. It is based off of an 80’s basketball sneaker profile.
Pro Keds has also taken a proactive stance to create a firm identity for itself in the women’s market. This Summer 2007 flagship shoe features the Royal Swerve, inklings of rubber modelings, as well as light and metallic highlights represent this sneaker. You can find more images after the jump.
The Zoo York Institute and NYC non-profit youth organization, Stoked Mentoring have teamed up with renowned artist, Mike Giant, to produce a limited-edition skateboard deck and T-shirt to benefit NYC youth. Set to release in June, a portion of all proceeds from the sale of both items will be donated to Stoked Mentoring to help further its mission of developing “Successful Teens with Opportunity, Knowledge, Experience, and Determination†through action sports, mentoring, and coaching.
To celebrate the official release of this collaboration, a launch party / fund-raiser will take place Wednesday, June 6th in NYC at Pink Elephant.

Concept Shop has just received the latest shirts by Jun Takahashi’s Undercoverism for the Tokyo branch of Rei Kawakubo’s (of Comme des Garcons) Dover Street Market. The tee’s are actually themed after Charlie Brown.
R/C vehicle manufacturer Tamiya and Japanese bag experts Porter have teamed up to release an upcoming R/C Bag to provide an easy method of transporting your radio controlled beast to and from the track. Although the bag’s main focus was created for R/C vehicles, in reality the bag has many other possible usages such as a shoe carrier, LP holder or just a carry old for all your miscellaneous items. High Snobiety has recently release a feature on Nike’s Vintage Running Collection. The basis of this collection is to recreate the past memories and meanings once held by Nike’s innovative past. As Nike continues the releases of various retro shoes, these retro inspired runners from the Vintage Collection will not succumb to any modifications or differences as they have been created to the exact specifications of the originals. As well each shoe has been given a vintage treatment to give a sense of story. Perhaps some many not appreciate the falsification of a sneakers story, much like starch and raw denim but conversely, to some we feel as though an exact original reproduction in pristine condition just wouldn’t be the same either. The Vintage Running Collection will feature the Cortez, the Waffle, and the Daybreak.

An all new colorway of the Nike ACG Wildedge has dropped. The Wildedge is a modern take on the vintage ACG classic, the Wildwood. Updates on the Wildedge relative to the Wildwood include rubber bumpers for toe protection along the front, a nylon upper (as opposed to leather), and a 1 piece full length tongue-less booty similar to the Free.
