Delivering collaborations with Damien Hirst and Ernie Barnes, an Aphex Twin photo tee and a Supreme-exclusive Mies Van Der Rohe Barcelona chair in washed denim.
The origins of the t-shirt are sketchy at best, but regardless there aren’t many pieces of clothing that have the ability to transcend economic barriers and make themselves available to all social classes, be at the focal point of slogans and messages, and perhaps most important keep you comfortably and cool whenever you throw one on. Japanese brand for the masses, Uniqlo recognize the importance of t-shirts and have based their latest “UT Project” behind this notion. The UT Project (UT refers to Uniqlo T-shirt) will fashion itself as a new concept store that will revolutionize itself as a way to buy t-shirts for the future, and at the bottom of all this is creator Kashiwa Sato. Each t-shirt will be housed in a transparent cannister (think tennis ball cannisters) each displayed along numerous shelves. 5000 square feet over 4 floors (1 being a gallery floor) will be dedicated solely to one of the most basic of basics in everybody’s wardrobe. When you step foot into the UT Project, you are effectively stepping foot in what can only be described as a temple of t-shirts.
Delta – InterviewUploaded by on-point
Here’s an interview Boris Tellegen a.k.a. Delta gave at the end of 2006 while displaying his works at Alice Gallery in Brussels. Delta’s education in industrial design meshed well with his graffiti background to produce abstract lettering appearing to be the plans to some futuristic design. When creating, Delta feels as though he attempts to “simplify the futuristic influences” in his work which inadvertently lead to some ’50’s era influences in his work to keep things from becoming too science-fiction like. Definitely an interesting interview and worth the time to watch.

Painter and most recently, toy-maker Andrew Brandou is featuring his art at the Corey Helford Gallery. Andrew finds a lot of inspiration from within the everyday occurrences we are all subjected to. This in conjunction with the use of the living and dead as well as plants and animals enables him to create themes that transcend the reality of life and create a more universal art form. Also available at the Corey Helford Gallery is one of Brandou’s first foray’s into toy-making (with the help of Span of Sunset), Sniper Bunny. The subtly-referenced Charles Manson themed comes complete in a peel away style package that only adds to the the theme behind Snipper Bunny. The Sniper Bunny plush toy is available in a regular style as well as a creepy style.
“As A Man Thinketh, So He Is” will run till May 5th. Check out Vinyl Pulse’s interview which offers more insight into Brandou’s style and ideas behind Sniper Bunny.

This movie is an account of his foundation as an artist, through the subjection to movies by his parents all the way to his most memorable experiences as a photographer.
