World famous boutique, HUF, will be opening a new skate shop and the grand opening will be this coming Sunday April 14th. This new shop will be a great new addition to San Francisco and for this occasion, they will have skateboarder/musician Tommy Guerrero live at the event. For those in the Bay Area, this is one opening that’s definitely worth checking out. The new shop is located on Sutter Street at Jones.

In upcoming months, Nike Skateboarding will be releasing a pair of Nike Team Edition SB that will be featuring the ever-popular cement print. Here are detailed photos of the sneaker, which reveals the black, navy, and red colorway and the detailed cement print on the front and rear of the shoe. This year is another prime year for the cement print as Jordan III colorways are being released. So don’t be surprised to see more cement print sneakers coming soon.

New Balance Japan has recently created a special website to commemorate the history and background of the New Balance 320 model. The Shake320 website offers a comprehensive look at the history, interviews with Eric Haze and NB designers , and a catalog to give viewers a lesson and time regarding this timeless classic. Like their leopard reversible hoodies, the Bondage hoody will be limited to 100 pieces as well. Timberland recently instated the 15R Design Coalition. The idea behind the project was to enlist the following five designers from Timberland, Brandon Coleman, Chuck Rudd, Christopher Pawlus, Stephen Ammon and Jessica Colaluca. Each were given the opportunity to design a boot that best reflects themselves. These reflections were based on many different factors that shape us as individuals such as our life experiences and our hobbies. One thing is for sure, each boot will carry different themes and inherently different designs due to everybody’s different reflections.

Motorola acquired the talents of artist/toy designer Eric So to create a few special designer toy figures for Motorola. The toys are for a special Asia exclusive release for China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan as a giveaway prize for those wanting to sign up for a new network provider. The toys are of Chinese stars Jay Chou and Zhou Xun holding the Moto 36 and MOTOKRZR Motorola phones. They are limited to only 2,000 figures. So for those in Asia looking for a new contract with a wireless network, look out for these toys when signing up.

This month, Japan will see the launch of the Puma G Vilas. From Japan, this tour will globe trot around the world hitting up seven countries including Sweden, Germany, France, Hong Kong, the UK and finally concluding in Argentina, the home country of tennis legend Guillermo “Young Bull of Pampas†Vilas. The tour will feature 3 cabinets filled with Vilas trophies and personal keepsakes.
Guillermo Vilas can only be described as a quintessential playboy. Known for his good looks and awesome tennis ability, Guillermo quickly rose to fame on and off the court for his sublime ability to beat opponents through strength, fitness, and patience which all culminated in an ability to outlast opponents. However Guillermo was equally apt at carrying out various extracurricular party activities outside of tennis.
30 years ago, Guillermo Vilas created tennis history by going on a rampage in 1977. He won 17 tournaments to the tune of 145 match wins and only 14 match losses. Nestled within this impressive record was a 50 match winning streak that resulted in both the French and US Open titles.
The re-issue of the Puma G Vilas comes straight “From the Puma Archives”, original colorways have been released alongside brand new colorways to capture and recreate the essence of what made the Puma G Vilas such an important piece of Puma history. A special sneaker release to commemorate Vilas’ accomplishments will release under the banner of GV Hall of Fame. This sneaker will feature creamy white leather combined with a perforated gray suede toe. The trademark leather Puma formstripe will feature Argentinan blue. One of the most noticeable characteristics is the picture of Vilas on the tongue of the GV Hall of Fame. This photo was taken in 1977 following Vilas win at the 1977 French Open. The heel logo’s on the left and right shoe feature 19 and 91 respectively, a tribute to Vilas induction year in the Tennis Hall of Fame. Rounding out the features are light blue and white laces, combined with an Argentine yellow to complete the package.
