This month, Japan will see the launch of the Puma G Vilas. From Japan, this tour will globe trot around the world hitting up seven countries including Sweden, Germany, France, Hong Kong, the UK and finally concluding in Argentina, the home country of tennis legend Guillermo “Young Bull of Pampas†Vilas. The tour will feature 3 cabinets filled with Vilas trophies and personal keepsakes.
Guillermo Vilas can only be described as a quintessential playboy. Known for his good looks and awesome tennis ability, Guillermo quickly rose to fame on and off the court for his sublime ability to beat opponents through strength, fitness, and patience which all culminated in an ability to outlast opponents. However Guillermo was equally apt at carrying out various extracurricular party activities outside of tennis.
30 years ago, Guillermo Vilas created tennis history by going on a rampage in 1977. He won 17 tournaments to the tune of 145 match wins and only 14 match losses. Nestled within this impressive record was a 50 match winning streak that resulted in both the French and US Open titles.
The re-issue of the Puma G Vilas comes straight “From the Puma Archives”, original colorways have been released alongside brand new colorways to capture and recreate the essence of what made the Puma G Vilas such an important piece of Puma history. A special sneaker release to commemorate Vilas’ accomplishments will release under the banner of GV Hall of Fame. This sneaker will feature creamy white leather combined with a perforated gray suede toe. The trademark leather Puma formstripe will feature Argentinan blue. One of the most noticeable characteristics is the picture of Vilas on the tongue of the GV Hall of Fame. This photo was taken in 1977 following Vilas win at the 1977 French Open. The heel logo’s on the left and right shoe feature 19 and 91 respectively, a tribute to Vilas induction year in the Tennis Hall of Fame. Rounding out the features are light blue and white laces, combined with an Argentine yellow to complete the package.

Mad Foot out of Japan are set to release their upcoming Spring line which will debut the brand new Base Low in black and white. The upper features cotton hemp that provides a light weight and breathable sneaker. The releases on the 24th of this month. Check the rest of the line up after the jump.
Beautiful/Decay and Mishka hooked up on a special collaborative tee that pays homage to the Grindhouse era of film making. The shirt comes out just in time as the new Tarantino/Rodriguez film “Grindhouse” releases. It features a Grindhouse movie poster featuring the two labels as titles for the “films.” It’s a dope concept that should have Mishka Fans proud since NYC was a breeding ground for a lot of the Grindhouse flicks that were released back then. You can get these shirts now at Beautiful/Decay’s online shop. Only 200 tees were made.

Undercover has already released a previous version of the Jack Purcell model around last year. The new version now will be different with polka dot designs on the kicks. It’s pretty much the same style shoe, except for the dots. The kicks come in either black or white and will release this Saturday April 14 at the HK Undercover shop.

Neighborhood and Undefeated linked up together for a special tee release. The tee, which is titled “Joint Force,” is set to drop this Saturday April 14th at all UNDFTD US Chapter stores. It is available in black with the UNDFTD logos on the front and back of the shirt. The Neighborhood logo can be seen on the back of the shirt as well.
Last week, Wynn Miller debuted her “Arizona Maravilla” collection at Reserve in LA. Freshjive have taken two photo’s from the collection and created some special tee’s to salute Wynn Miller’s photography. The two prints are available in black and white. The black tee’s will be limited to only 48 pieces and are currently available exclusively at Digital Gravel and Reserve. The white versions will hit select Freshjive dealers.
Japanese Artist/Designer, Kenzo Minami was acquired by Kidrobot to design a special edition 8” Dunny. This isn’t the first time Kenzo has applied his geometrical/futuristic type design style on a Dunny. He has designed a Dunny 2 years ago for a Dunny series 2 collection that was only 3”. The only difference now is that this Dunny is strictly a special listing for those registered to purchase one. 350 Figures were made, and Kidrobot still cannot guarantee a Dunny for all registered members. The listing ends today and if you’re one of those who registered, check your email now and see if you’re one of the lucky ones.

This time the selection includes a polka dot pocket t-shirt, white pocket t-shirt, and a set of three stripe pattern long sleeve t-shirts in colors of blue, brown, and grey. These items show simplicity but have a nice play in patterns and will be a great purchase for the spring and summer season.

Original Fake store in Aoyama will be celebrating their 1st year anniversary very soon. Here you see the new dissected companion doll from Kaws’ Original Fake that will accompany the celebration. The previous designs of companions have been amazing but this one is probably the best one yet. The companion features a bronze color giving it a nice finish. Keep at eye out at the Original Fake website for details on the release date.

To most fanatical sneaker heads, DJ Clark Kent is known as one of the worlds first foremost sneaker and Air Force 1 collector. However we should be quick to point this shouldn’t detract from his original claim to fame as producer and DJ. This is the man who discovered and brought light to the one and only Jay-Z. Though DJ Clark Kent started off as a DJ, his quick eye for spotting talent ended up being his claim to fame. Artists such as Jay-Z, MC Lyte, Busta Rhymes, Mariah Carey, Ice Cube, Notorious B.I.G., and the Fugees have all come under the production of DJ Clark Kent at one time or another.
