for me, i just found a song that i really wanted to know how to play.

from there, i learned and played the song until i perfected it. that trained my fingers A LOT.

then i was able to relax my fingers to play any song with practice.

this was the song btw

This is something I would have made fun of in high school, but the truth is I actually really want to learn to play piano too. I'd be interested in answers too, but I'm probably more of a beginner than OP.

My dad taught me when i was a kid and it was a good method to teach a noob. I didn't learn notes at all in the beginning, i just learned slowly by memorizing all the keys. Try having a  starting point like middle C and build up from there using only the white keys and learn the C major scale, build chords from that like the C cord made from C E G and the F cord F A C. Just learn these things from default and once you are able to do that while relaxed you can start getting into note reading
