I've had my eye on this brand for a while. Might be my next pair so I thought I'd tap the HB masses for some further knowledge apart from what I've already found. Discuss.

Official Site:
http://www.japanblue.co.jp/momotaro/history/e_index.html

Online Retailers:
http://blueingreensoho.com/
http://www.contextclothing.com

I'll add more links later on. There seems to be a lot of US based retailers for this brand but I'll just put the ones I have deemed trustworthy up.

I'm liking the 0201s but I'm not completely fond of the pink inseam line.

momotaro vintage label is good stuff. the "tight-straight" cut in particular is nice.

i've always liked momotaro, suprised there wasnt a thread already on these....

All of the exported models are fairly slim, good cuts. They hold indigo really well, somewhere between flathead and something like 45rpm which doesn't give up anything. They're pretty well known for their natural indigo dyed jeans and dyeing techniques, as well as for a jean that costed over 2000 USD that was natural indigo dyed with gold plated details and riveting or some thing of that sort. Anyway, they should definitely be purchased more, they're great jeans and will last you a couple of years.

yeah, around $260-$285 for the "vintage label" depending on where you get them. there's different grade levels for their products though. apparently the gold label is completely hand made from scratch down to the dyes they use; worth around 2 grand.

I was wearing the Vintage label (0901) Momotaros for the past year and now wearing the G003-MB Copper Label jeans.

Below an older youtube clip featuring the gold label Momotaros. There are three types of Gold Label momotaros, the G003-T, G003-A and G003-O, the T's are most expensive totally hand made and it takes about a year to produce a pair and the production is kind of community event with the local folks helping in production as in collecting the indigo plant and so on. The fabric is done completely using the old school hand looms. The G003-A Momotaros have the back pockets made out of the same all hand made fabric as the G003-T and the rest of the jeans are hand dyed as well. The G003-O jeans are hand dyed with natural indigo.

Below is a picture of a pair of similar Copper Label Momotaro Jeans worn for a year. The pic is from our Momotaro Jeans stand at Terminal-2 fashion fair in Copenhagen.

I've worn mine for about 6months but its probably more like 3 months of actual wear because I switch between the momo's and my PBJs, haven't soaked or washed. I got a 32 but they have stretched a size to 33.

Not really a fan of that pink stitching I've seen on some pairs though.
