Muji Is Giving People the Chance to Live in Its Minimalist "Window House" for Free
A no-clutter approach to everyday life.
Japanese label, Muji expands its foray into housing with this prefabricated home called the “Window House.” You can find this minimalist abode about 30 miles from Tokyo in a seaside town called Kamakura. In the simple, uncomplicated style the brand is known for, this space is made with clean white walls on the outside and in to further emphasize its streamlined appearance. In the interior, you will find an open floor plan, allowing its residents to move freely to and from each room without any distractions. Plus if you’re interested, anyone with a family or roommates can actually sign up and test the house for two years. The house will also have Muji products and furniture, so you won’t need to bring or buy your own extras. All you have to do in return is give your feedback throughout so that the company’s research team can improve on the designs if needed.
