HYPEBEAST Goes Backstage at the Dior Homme 2016 Spring/Summer Show
Formal doesn’t have to mean boring.
“In all diorder, a secret order,” says Kris Van Assche about the Dior Homme 2016 spring/summer collection. What does this mean? The answer can be found within the lineup of garments found within the show, where traditional menswear staples merged together with streetwear influences brought a juxtaposition that some would have thought impossible less than a decade ago. Sharp suits incorporated a plethora of zippers and the abundant use of camo on shirts, knitwear and even accessories, displayed a playful twist on what is normally considered formal attire. MA-1 jackets and floral bombers were found amongst some other luxury items such as crocodile coats to round off a message that said formal does not necessarily mean boring.
