Prior to 1920, the NHL consisted of 10 total teams, but the Great Depression forced a few to shutter and break away, thus leaving just six teams by the end of World War II. Here, Boston-based Concepts pays homage to the so-called “Original 6” with a summertime collaboration alongside Mitchell & Ness. Arriving in the midst of this year’s Stanley Cup finals, the collab features knit basketball-style jerseys for the likes of the Boston Bruins, New York Rangers, Montreal Canadiens, Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks. In addition to the unis, a set of matching mesh bucket hats have been created, each of which sports a team-specific embroidered patch logo, exterior Concepts loop label and interior co-branding.
The entirety of the “Original 6” collection launches at Concepts New York this Friday, June 5 at 12 p.m. EDT.
