Google Releases Its First-Ever Fashion Trends Report, Says Normcore Is Dead

With every query typed into its search bar, Google is given a unique look into what’s important to the general public at any given moment. It has been publishing Trends reports for some time now, most notably those that come at the end of the calendar year and act as a Year in Review piece, but they just published the first ever dedicated Google Fashion Trends report. Comprised of data collected from more than 6 billion searches made between January and February 2015, the report outlines the most popular types of clothing for the spring season. Seasonal items like bathing suits and dresses were popular on the ladies side, while the ubiquitous jogger pants shows no sign of slowing as an important unisex basic in a variety of colors of which khaki was the most popular. On the flipside, the normcore trend has already reached its peak and is on a rapid decline, along with ’90s jeans, the scarf vest, and “zoo” jeans. Check out the complete report here.
