From the floating markets of Ayutthaya to the mega malls of Siam, Bangkok has long been a retail hub of sorts. While the retail scene may be crowded, SIWILAI, a brand new multi-branded concept space, looks to transform the scene with its all encompassing mix of fashion, grooming, lifestyle, music and art. Located on the top floor of the newly opened Central Embassy complex, the 826-square-meter space comes equipped with an outdoor terrace and its own restaurant, Rocket Coffeebar. Realized by Yabu Pushelberg — whose previous projects include the Four Seasons, Barneys, W Hotel and Louis Vuitton — the interior builds off a cohesion of modern and traditional motifs, with cult and designer brands like Common Projects, Pigalle, Engineered Garments and Thom Browne sitting side by side with vintage Adam La Revue de L’homme magazine’s minimalist furniture. Carefully curated from start to finish, SIWILAI’s launch didn’t fall short when it came to the opening night, enlisting 2 Many DJs and A$AP Rocky as special guests. Cast your eyes over the recap images here and be sure to check out SIWILAI if you’re ever in Bangkok.
