If you listen to the drum and bass genre or have even a slight interest in it, you would have no doubt heard the refreshing sounds of the four-piece electronic outfit known as Rudimental. We now have the pleasure of presenting to you the Essentials of one member from the quartet, Amir Amor. Born and bred in East London, Amir began his journey into the world of music by producing mixtapes at a youth club/studio in Camden where he also met English rapper Plan B. From selling mixtapes at school, he has now progressed to set up a production house entitled Major Toms and helped his band win the prestigious 2014 Award for British Single of the Year with the mesmerizing song, ”Waiting All Night.”
Although he is constantly touring worldwide, we can see from his essentials that he never stops working, nor creating. A Gibson EB5 String Bass and Novation Bass Station Keyboard are his tools for creating those deep bass lines we have come to love, as well an array of synthesizers for the live performances. What is even more impressive however, is that despite critical acclaim and never being in the same spot for too long, he still shows strong influences of his roots with his personal effects. His Roundel by London Underground x Nike Air Max 90 and Hype trainers as well as a Native Youth shirt ensure he will always be representing London wherever he goes. Enjoy the Essentials here and check out Rudimental’s music if you haven’t already.
