PAM 2013 Spring/Summer "To & Afro" Collection
Melbourne-based PAM (Perks And Mini) add a new set of indigo-dyed offerings to its “To & Afro”

Melbourne-based PAM (Perks And Mini) add a new set of indigo-dyed offerings to its “To & Afro” collection for the Spring/Summer 2013 season. The richly-hued items consist of an oversize top, shirt, jacket, chinos, shorts, and a cap. While the styles are decidedly designed for the streets, PAM took great care to include the cultural richness of the collection in its garments.
The cotton used in the items was hand-dyed in Dakar using traditional Malian techniques. Using 6m-deep pits filled with a fermented indigo dye solution, the cotton is folded and tied before being submerged. After drying, creases are removed by hand, using large wooden mallets to beat the fabric which is laid over large logs. Check out this playful mashup of artisanal craftsmanship and street styling at PAM stockists now including Someday.
