A little before this time last year, Mark Suciu had quietly released a video part via Thrasher, chronicling his journey from San Jose to Philadelphia, called “Cross Continental.” Since then, Suciu has further blossomed into a coverage machine – a sponsor’s dream – fiercely pumping out a ton of incomprehensibly quality footage that puts most modern professionals to shame. Such prolificacy is not merely the product of work ethic, but rather evidence of prodigy status, which has landed young Suciu a spot on the adidas Skateboarding squad.
While it was announced via a recent New York feature (highly recommended) that Suciu would be joining the ranks of Busenitz and former teammate Tim O’Connor on the adidas skate team, the company today presents an official debut clip. Filmed in Philadelphia over the course of several visits, Suciu channels a young, active Anthony Pappalardo to weave through the City of Brotherly Love. An affinity for ledge wizardry and ignorance to ground texture has forced the collective skateboarding community to turn its head away from Mark Suciu’s California background and, to be frank, he handles this context as expertly as he would a local park. With more highlights than one’s fingers have energy to type, it makes more sense now to point to the clip above – beautifully shot and produced by Chris Mulhern and Juice Design.
